Practice Drawings

Practice Drawings began as a daily investigation into what could emerge from sustained attention and repetition. Working within a hand-drawn grid, each drawing responded to the one before it, gradually forming connections that exceeded the structure that initiated them. Rather than producing individual images, the series established a way of working—one in which simple constraints became a framework for discovery, relation, and continued practice.

From grid to gesture

The inquiry continued in a related series of ink drawings, where the organizing grid was abandoned in favor of a single gestural mark. While the means changed, the underlying question remained the same: how much complexity could emerge from the sustained exploration of a simple condition?
